Mr. Stobbe attended undergraduate school at University of Colorado-Boulder, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993 with dual majors and minor: communications disorders-speech science, psychology, and linguistics respectively. He graduated with honors from the Physician Assistant Programs at Red Rocks Community College and Saint Francis College in 2000, where he simultaneously earned his Masters degree.
Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Mr. Stobbe worked as a Mental Health Counselor for 7-years specializing in cognitive-behavioral and addiction disorders, which is evident in his care, consideration, ability to listen and respond to his patients’ needs. This is where he learned to enhance treatment modalities to improve the quality of life for individuals and families, and subsequently, the desire to proceed further in the neurodiagnostic and behavioral fields of medicine.
Prior to moving to Wyoming, Mr. Stobbe managed patients and delivered services as a Physician Assistant in Colorado at an integrative-interventional spine and pain specialty practice. He developed a keen understanding of chronic-complex spine and pain disorders and how to utilize pharmacotherapeutics, advanced technologies, and psychology in treating these multi-dimentional disorders. He then joined George Frey, MD at Colorado Comprehensive Spine Institute, an orthopedic spine center specializing in complex spinal disorders, deformities, and pain syndromes. He became Clinical Director thereby coordinating several integrated departments: x-ray, MRI, medical clinic with remote satellite clinics, and liaison for 6-hospitals. He also developed and managed the pain and patient education programs, while fulfilling his other Physician Assistant obligations.
Mr. Stobbe is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants [NCCPA], plus has specialized surgery certification from the NCCPA. Currently has licensure with the Wyoming Board of Medicine, Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy, and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Member of American Association of Physician Assistants, Colorado Academy of Physician Assistants, and North American Spine Society. He was previously Vice President and Director at Large for the board of Colorado Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
As a member of Wyoming Brain and Spine Associates, Mr. Stobbe will continue to expand his expertise regarding the diagnosing, treating, managing and surgical assisting of comprehensive-complex, brain and spine pathologies, disorders and deformities. The primary focus is to educate patients so the knowledge brings empowerment. A better understanding of one’s condition allows a patient to make informed decisions regarding treatment and care.
Mr. Stobbe enjoys multiple outdoor activities with his wife, two small children and Chesapeake Retriever; fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, hiking, biking, “atv-ing” and much more! Life offers many stressors and complications; it is essential that one have a sense of humor, strong coping skills, as well as strong team commitment to tackle the many challenges life has to offer.
